For future reference (and for other readers) - is it necessary to post here first *or can we simply send the message "password recovery" from the app as requested and hope / trust that you will pick it up and send an email just the same with a new password?

Users have to contact me. I will check then if they have registered an email address. If they have I will send the new password to their address. If they have not they have to prove that they are the owner of the account by sending this message.

So confirming - procedure is to post in these forums in the first instance when needing to recover a password?
